CONWAY CIRCUIT
ST. JAMES AMR CHURCH
Rev. Hugo Stanley, I'astor
Sunday'was our fourth and last
quarterly conference for this year.
It was a lovely ending. We reached
our climax both spiritual and
i financially*
S. S. opened on the usual hour
with Supt. and co-workers at. their
post. After a brief discussion,
the . pastor was presented by the
Supt. for a review, but I>r. Jenkins
being-present, the pastor presented
him for review which .was .
very good. He touched on some _
of the high points and made them
very clear to his . listeners.
We were happy to have as our
visitors, Mrs. Jenkins, Dr. Jenkin's
dear wife; Prof. Smith, the
Principal of Georgetown High
I School and also our State League i
President; all of Georgetown, also
Mr. Charlie Bruie of Georgia.
Prof. Smith was presented hy
Dr. Jenkins for remarks in the ;
behaves of S. S. Later in the 1
day, Prof. Smith, 'Mrs. Jenkins
and Mr. Bruie were presented at
^ 1
which time they expressed their 1
appreciation and comments.
Our morning worship began immediately
after S. S. Dr. Jenkins
was presented by the pastor. He
expressed his sad views on the
ministers of the district and how
they are being cut down. He said
ministers and members should be ,
considerate in regards the wea- ,
ther. Dr. Jenkins selected his
text from Matt. lf>:18, Them'e (
Tesua and the Church. Emphasis
were placed on what it means to
be in a church. He preached with ,
i
much force but seemed to be ever
conscious of the elimnHe rnn. I
dition. The amount of $25.25 was
lifted from the public by stewards
from St. James, Hemingway, Can- ^
non Branch and Prof. Smith. Total
collected for the day $201.38.
Our quarterly conference ended
with smooth reports from all leaders
and also with our Presiding c
Elder, pastor and members ex- ^
pressing their gratitude for this
very' prosperous conference year.
Dr. Jenkins, Mrs. Jenkins and '
Prof. Smith were, pinner guests r
at the parsonage.
