We pray a speedy re lief for both. We were sorry to learn that Mrs. Lucy Young was fliberalized at Beathbia Baptist Church in Santuck, S. C. The lesson was beautifully taught and . interestingly discussed for about 30 minutes. After the discussion of the lesson we had review and , remarks of interest by Supt. Praise service proceeded a.. long the usual order, and was. beau tifuily carried?out. The morning scripture was re$|d by the pastor from -the49tl\ chapter of Isaiah, ; *?After the praise service, the hies sage was delivered by Rev, II. Minis, our pastor being on vacation, although he was present on the rostrum. Rev. Minis preached [ from the theme: "The Three ways j to look;" outlook, downlook, and j _.uplook. From this theme, he de^ Tryered a soul stirring message, . It* was uplifting and challenging. Union was spiritually alive as Rev Minis expounded' this great message. ?Because out^pastor is on vacation our evening worship was omitted. A warm BTU was. held. Hugo Stanley, I'astor Sunday'was our fourth and last quarterly conference for this year. It was a lovely ending. We reached our climax both spiritual and i financially* S. S. opened on the usual hour with Supt. and co-workers at. their post. After a brief discussion, the . pastor was presented by the Supt. for a review, but I>r. Jenkins being-present, the pastor presented him for review which .was . very good. He touched on some _ of the high points and made them very clear to his . listeners. We were happy to have as our visitors, Mrs. Jenkins, Dr. Jenkin's dear wife; Prof. Smith, the Principal of Georgetown High I School and also our State League i President; all of Georgetown, also Mr. Charlie Bruie of Georgia. Prof. Smith was presented hy Dr. Jenkins for remarks in the ; behaves of S. S. Later in the 1 day, Prof. Smith, 'Mrs. Jenkins and Mr. Bruie were presented at ^ 1 which time they expressed their 1 appreciation and comments. Our morning worship began immediately after S. S. Dr. Jenkins was presented by the pastor. He expressed his sad views on the ministers of the district and how they are being cut down. He said ministers and members should be , considerate in regards the wea- , ther. Dr. Jenkins selected his text from Matt. lf>:18, Them'e ( Tesua and the Church. Emphasis were placed on what it means to be in a church. He preached with , i much force but seemed to be ever conscious of the elimnHe rnn. I dition. The amount of $25.25 was lifted from the public by stewards from St. James, Hemingway, Can- ^ non Branch and Prof. Smith. Total collected for the day $201.38. Our quarterly conference ended with smooth reports from all leaders and also with our Presiding c Elder, pastor and members ex- ^ pressing their gratitude for this very' prosperous conference year.
