mother of Mr. Thackston was the
late Mrs. Vashti Thackston, who

Sunday found us at St. Matthew
Rev. W. M. Green of West Columbia,
pastor. The devotion was conducted
by the senior deacon. Rev.
Green then arose and took his text
from Gen. 22:24, "And.Jacob was
left alone and there wrestled a

of day." From this text he preach
ed a very good sermon. Everything
was carried put just fine.
Sunday was pastor's election
day and Rev. Green was elected
for anc/ther year without one on
poser. Rev. A. L. Diggs was the
acting chairman. I was told that
that Rev. Green's salary was
raised $75.00. You go on and do
right rnd preach the gospel and
don't worry, if the people want
you they will take care of you. The
master said, "For the workman is
worthy of his meat." Matt. 10:10.n
