Pi|? Two ' v . THE OLD GRAY By Rev. E. Philip Ellis A Grand Masonic Meeting?When District Deputy Grand Master S. J. Poinsette called the _ _finL district tu meet in annual session at Mt. Pleasant on last Monday, it was the finest scene we have ever witnessed. It had the appearance of a real grand lodge which proves that brother Pomsette is among^the best df puties in he entire Masonic jurisdiction. Nearly every lodge in the district was represented. Among the outstanding officers are: Mr. Ju_ lious Brown, secretary; the Rev. Mr. Felder, chaplain; Bro. Thomas Canty, tiler, and Bro. Wilson, senior deputy. The district deputy's address was a masterpiece to say the least. The district asked it be published for distribution among the, erafta. Opening The Sunday following the grand opening of St. Luke'a church, was the grand opening of the Sunday ?- School with Mr. JosephrrRaese; Supt. This \vas an affair that will be of long r. memberunco. The new Sunday School department was crowded with students and visi _ tors. Following a brief recitation. Prof. John A. Harris, state Supt. of Sunday Schools, delivered a most profound address. Everybody spoke in highest terms of this wonderful speech. Bro. Harris certainly knows how to handle young people, and our church has many reasons tu be proud of him. The N. A. P. Meet in if The Charleston local branch of the above association will meet with Greater St. Luke church, St. Philip street, between Bogard and Lane, Tuesday evening, the 16th at 0 o'clock. That's next Tuesday and President Milter is urging every member to be present. The branch here has become a live wire, and it is a pleasure to be present at te mheetings.
