Sunday wan another fine day
for church-goers. At Weston
Chapel A, M. E. church the Suifcday
school opened at 10 o'clock.
The Supt., Mrs. E. O. Carter and
teachers at their post of duty. After
a brief discussion of the lesson
it was reviewed by Mr. Joel
Perrin. At 11 o'clock the Pastor
Rev. M. G. Williams preached a
most powerful sermon from St.
Mark L0:13 after which the doors
of the church were opened. The
spirit was high. At 3 o'clock the
City Choirs union met at Tabernacle
Baptist church where 'they
rendered lovely music and were
highly entertained. Some very in
teresting speche8 were made among
whom were the evangelist
Rev. Nicholson. After which a
loveiy course 01 ice cream, sandwiches
were served.
The S. S. at Weston chapel cele
bda ted (Children's Day exercises
Sunday night at 8 Tj'clock. It
was enjoyed by all.
At Mt. Pisgah A. M. E. church
Rev. Nicholson the evangelist will
conduct a- revival meeting. He
preached wonderful sermons Sun
day. The meeting was launched
in earnest at the night service.
At Flint Hill Baptist Church,
Kirsey, S ?C., |Rev. H. W. Gilliam
pastor, the Sunday school opened
at^he usual" hour. Dea. White
Williams, Supt. with his faculty
at their post of duty. After a
warm discussion of the les on, i
was reviewed by Rev. Dayson of
Newberry, a visiting minister with
Rev. Gilliam. At the close of this
service the Rev. Glliam ascended
the rostrum and preached a most
powerful sermon from Rev. 21:1

new earth, etc. Rev. Gilliam seem
ed to have been at his best for as
the doors of the church were open

the service.
The ladies of the church consist
ing of Deacons wives and Missionaries
served a most wonderful
dinner which consisted~oT chicken

dainty desserts. After dinner the

Sandy Grove Methodist Church
Sunday was a day that will livt
long with everyone who attendee
church at Sandy Grove. It has
been a long time since we have

Sunday. Our Pastor, Rev. M. J,
Porter preached one of thfe most
powerful - sermons that ever was
preached in our church. The officers
and members, visitors too,
are telling it along the road and
throughout th? community, how
they have been benefited by the
sermon.^ 'Rev. Porter, we want
you tp know that we are with you
yes, every man, woman and child
and as long as you lead, as you
church is making progress along
all lines, and we do appreciate the
way things are going.
The Woman's Society of Christian
service met Sunday afternooh
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. K.
Kirvin. The meeting was called
to order by Mrs, Marion Rivers,
president.. The business of the
meeting was conducted in a most
lovely manner. The report by the
president concerning the district
meeting, which was held in Sumter
Friday and of state meeting
in Columbia, June 1.1 and 14. Also
the rally for the fifth Sunday were
the high spots of the meeting. The
