Bates; Prof C. G. Garrett with
Prof. Garrett*, made encouraging
remarks.
A. C. E. I., met at the usual
hour. This being our second quar
terly conferenc*. our Presiding El
der Dr. P. M. Gary was with us
and encouraged the young folk to
work on, they are - the future
church, and training in the A. C.
E. L. is the place to prepare them
selves for their future task.
At 8 o'clock after the opening of
th^ services the pastor presented
presiding elder Gary who delivered
the evening's message from Saint
Luke 5:20. 1 Folowing Monday evening,
Dr. Gary held his second
quarterly conference with the reg
ular procedure. All boards show
?d ?n increase financially. Rev,
Gary commended the pastor, officials
and the church in general
for their work done TOttc^ the first
quarter. He said too much cannot
be said and too much encourage
jmentcannot be given a church like
Friendship. He bid us God's
speed. Thus closed a successful
conference.

these presented a very pretty picture

were tastefully arranged around
the walls and on the table. The
refreshments included . a chicken
salad with crisp lettuce, i c e
cream and lime jello, and a white
layer cake?with tiny green endie
for the birthday of the clob.
Souvenirs were in the form o f
urvtty little green cellophane baskets
with white ribbon and white
and green gum drops on toothy
pick pedestals.
Other meetings have been had
and now the club looks forward
to its annual picnic and vacation
time.

nicely. All young ladies are asked

president-Sunday, 5:30. Plans are
being made for a Military banquet.
