Saturday. April 19. 1941 ? EMANCIPATION BAP ^TIST CHURCH Rev. W. P. Williams, Pastor Sunday was a lovely spring daj for churchgoers. Sunday schoo opened at the usual hour with ou energetic Supt. Mr. F. Footmai at hiy post of jiuty. At 11:80 the morning servrc< began. Our efficient and belovet pastor, Rev. Williams ascende< the rostrum and delivered a ver; excellent message. A few mem belie remained after chugch fo "the commumoif services! - We had a very interesting Ea; ter program. The principal speak ef?was Profr H. D. Sharperson principal of Dunton Memoria _ school, Orangeburg. The Wilkin -on High school glee club render td appropriate selections for th occasion. This glee club was un der the leadership of its subtl conductor, Miss Madge Perry. Mrs. Henrietta Spigner, a we] and worker sponsored the Eaate Pew Rally. This rally was quit a success. Mrs. Spigner exerted much m fluence in regards to this success ful affair. Too much cannot b said about her; and the good wor she has done. Mrs. Spigner is leader in her community. Othe ladies of the church also partici pated in this rally. Prizes were awarded to the fol lowing: Mrs. Hattfe Spigner, Mrj Eflie Spigner, Mrs. Matilda Fool man, Mrs. Whetstone and Mis Dantgler. The total for the rail was $201.92. Sunday was really a very out standing day at Emancipation^? WESTON CHAPEL A. M. E. CHURCH ? 5 Rev. M. G. Williams, Pastor Greenwood?Easter Sunday wa very finely celebrated all day a Weston Chapel. Beginning Sunda morning at 5 o'clock with a sou stirring sunrise prayer servic< followed by a ^varm Sunda; _tchool at 10 o'clock^?at whic time the Supt. and faculty bein in their places taught that beau ? ?tiful lesson about Christ. Afte wards the Pastor reviewed. The PPwe went into our regular morr ing service, which was very fint ly attended. At 11:30 a.m. Dr. Lorenzo H King, resident Bishop of the At lantic Coast Area, Methodist Chur conducted a heart warming sacred ch called the meeting to order and retreat. Then this dignified prelate sounded the, purpose of the meeting, stressing the great need of efficent consecrated leadership and the dire demand of 100 per cent reports along spiritual and financial lines. The gathering was then seperated Into ncu groups, Rs above mer tioned, to discuss and plan solutions for its own problems.
