and students home for the holidays.
The pastor preached from

enjoyed this great program.

Dr. Washington as pastor.of Cum
berland church and as a leader of
the race in the City of Aiken. After
this part of the program Prof.
Dawkins turned the meeting back

who in turn presented the pastor
Dr. Washington in most befitting
^terms expressed himself as being
highly elated over such a warm
and healthy reception and also
assured the brethren that he was
here first of all as pastor of Cum
berland church and then as a citizen
of Aiken, to share in the
community life, and to spend and
be spent in the interest and wel
fane of our group; After i the
program, refreshments consisting
of ham,.salad, crackers, cocfta and
coffee were served. This idea was
originated in the hrains of Bro.

words. The citizens of Aiken and
the officers and members of Cum
bprland in particular are elated
over the coming of Dr. Washington
to Aiken at this particular
time. They are pledging him their
