Rev. i / "..J..*.' r. r j?^ va i Children's Xmas Partv at AllenBenedict Court A children's ^Christmas party Was given at Allen-Benedict Court on Friday evening, December 27, in the assembly room of the administration building. The program was sponsoi-ed by the women of the community under the leadership of Mrs. Charlie Jeter. Solos, duets, group singing and readings featured the e^tening's entertainment. Among those present were, Mr, and Mrs. W. S. Henley, chairman of Columbia Housing Authority; Mr. s. L,. Latimer, vice chairman of the Housing Authority; Mr. W. R. Geddings. supervising mnnngPi of Columbia's housing projects; and Mr, Cr~A7 Johnson, a-member of the advisory committee. fThe guests were presented by Mr. M. A. Entzminger, resident-manager of Allen-Benedict Court. The party was one of a series of programs to be given during this year the calendar for which is already nearing completion. At the conclusion of the pro gram each child present was given a bag of assoi'ted fruits and candies. Williams has just been ordained an Elder in the Methodist church at Cheraw and will leave next week to complete his work at Gammon. THE Y. P. S. T. CLUB Columbia, 3- C., Dec. 30?Th* Y. P. S. T. Club held a >4hort meet ing at the home of Mrs. Butler, each member receiving his savings for the year. The club and friends in Columbia regret very much the passing of Mrs. Butler's brother. CAMP PATIENTS THOUGHTFULLY REMEMBERED Christmas did not slip upon us as we were^ looking forward to this joyous festival. On Saturday before Christmas the Daughters of the Holy Cross sent us beautifully decorated tree? and' packages that contained very useful articles. On Monday Santa Claus, along witth the Balentnie Aristocratic Pigs, sponsored by the Elks, came marching to our wards as the band played "Santa Claus rs coming to Town." The patients were amused by the joysus spirit of the group. As Santa went from bed to bed saying, 'Merry Chrismak, he left a stuff ?d stocking of goodies to a smiling patient. Later during the day, Rev. A. L. Peterson of Ebeneaer Baptist church, along with Rev. Taylor and Feldeivbrought a bag' of fruit~ancT ?andv. On Christmas day? Mr. 'Willie Martin, the electrician, came out and gave each patient" xt piece of noney. This act of kindness is done jach year." A group from SidneyPark C. M. E. church brought a arge bag of fruit. A club, through VIrss Junie Martin, brought to e^ch patient a nice pair of bed room shoes. Besides being given present? from many groups many of the patients received gifts from per sonal friends. As pne wou\d pass the bed table reviewing gifts, the patients would gladly tell you about them and from whom they iame. This- writer will not forget aow proud one lady patient was n showing him a beautiful, useful iresent she received from her boy friend. The patients appreciate the blessed spirit in which the gifts were ?iven.
