The seventy-fifth anniversary -tr! the Morris Street Baptist church and the eighteenth mniversary of its pastor, Rev. J. C. Dunbar, came to a close November 25, with balptism of a laige number <>f candidates. The anniversary was featured with a weeks program conducted by some of the local talents of the city, both white and colored. The program etch night was sponsored by different organizations of the church. Each nights program was conducted by members of the auxiliary that, was scheduled to take charge. The program as was scheduled: Monday night.: The Deacon's Board, Rev. J. F. Henderson pastor of Zion Presbyterian church; Tnoulov nio-hf- Thu ) Rev. W. R. Pettigrew, pastor of the Citadel Square Baptist church (white); Wednesday: The Ushers Rev. W. J. Kinalrd, Calvery Baptist Rev. H. B.? Jones, Wesley M. E church; Thursday: The B. V. P.tU., church; Friday: The Missionary: Rev. W. A. Ravenel :was_scheduled to preach b-ut beirvg indisposed, church, preached and Rev. RaV ReV. Thomas of Siletn Baptist enel's choir sang; Sunday: The - Rev. G. G. Daniels of Georgetown ? was to take charge of the services i but being unalble to serve he sent Rev. Edwards of Georgetown who served tvell in his place. These programs were well planned and very much enjoyed educationally as well as spiritually, ? Everything was carried out in a modern, practical way. We were very glad to have with lis the variouk pastors who joined . in the celebration of the joint anniversary of the church-and' it? pastor's anniversary. During the ptst 75 years tlu church has developed greatly under the following pastors who arc now dead: Rev. J. Legree, Rev. J l.. uari, Key. k. Kemp ami in< present Rev. J. C. Dunbar. It is interesting to note that during the "history of the church.it has had only 4 pastors including the pros V ent one. t Among some of the accomplish mertts-of thfe church during the--4S years of its present pastor ai*e: Finished paying the mortgage or the church, modernizing the Sunday school and B. T. U., imugurated the social department .of the church, installed a h'-at-r ooling system, burlding of an old folkhome. Rev. Di;pbar has proved to be a very efficient and trustworthy pastor and the church is pravine for him-' long and happy life at Morris Street?Lk ptjst church. Our Sunday school is going forward and has grown from every point of view. The congregation for the moitning service was very large. It is an inspiratior to hear these choirs. The choirs of the church are working togethei and enjoyed a silver tea at Mrs Anes se Craig's home Sunday when a unique program was rendered This being our first quarterh conferencfe, our presiding elder.
