The purple and white fleet ol *
Paine College Lions swept ovei
the purple and gold hornets of .
Morris college, here Saturday af
-ternoon to- the tune of 13-0.-The"
Paine outfit was at its best
and even the new men fell in line
with thi- olrl linrig, who knew th< _
way, and helped them to beat the
invaders off in a manner thai
brought the spectators roaring t<
their feet. The game was full oi
football "umph" and kept the
fans in a state of tenseness from
... the opening whistle to ?the final
gun.
Morris took their defeat stubbornly
and as late as three minlltnu
r\ nlntr i

line with two downs to f?o. Paine
held them for the downs and
punted the ball out of the daiigei
zone. Morris lost her last chance
to score when her captain and
quarterback had to be carried off
the field with a cracked ankle
But Captain Armstrong gained
220 yards for the Hornets before
he was carried off the field and 3
of the teams 5 first downs. Ht
was without doubt the spark-plug
of the Morris outfit and after he
stopped) firing there was little
hope for the Hornets.Pinrose
Parks, Paine's sweeping
running, kicking, halfback was
his old self again today. He ran
147 of the lionB 387 yards with
Lim Jones running a close second
with 118 yards to his credit. "Big
Pull" Hamilton was third with 78
yards to his credit. Paine piled
up 11 first downs to Morris 5.
