A A lovely home brimming
full with guests was the scene of
a gay house-warming party given
by Mr. and Mrs. James McAlister
of Kingstree, S. C., on Thursday,
May 23, 1940. Their cozy home
was blessed by their pastor, Rev.
H. H. Cooper. Mrs. Catherine Wiley
- Stewart l ead "The House By
The Side Of The Road." Afterwards
the guests were served delicious
ice cream and cake. Many
lovely?ami?useful?gifts?were?received
by Mr. and Mrs. McAlister.
Their home is one of the most
new and most beautiful in Kingstree.
With two children, Jacqueline
and Billie, they have only recently
moved into their home.
Mrs. McAlister is the former
Miiss Martha Reese of Bennettsville,
S. C., and she is a graduate
>f Benedict College, Columbia, S.
C. Mr. McAlister holds a degree
of Bachelor of Science from Claflin
College and is a member of the
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. Foi
several years he has been head
of the Science Department of the
Tomlinson High School, Kingstree
and he is now working on his M.
A. degree at Temple University
in Pennsylvania.
