She left the city last Friday, going by way of New York, where she expects to spend a short while. She will also visit other eastern cities before returning home. All we have heard and read about Dr. Carver faded as a shad ow as we stood in the Carver Museum and observed the contribu' tions of the God-given.;character,' as one "Took ii~ amazenfent, and says "the half has never been told". Rutherford, born at Pomaria, S. C., is the daughter of Mr. James J. Rutherford. She attended the elementary school at Pomaria. Completing her training there,- she entered Kettis Academy at Trenton, S. C., where she remained two years, then entered the Hooker 1. Washington .High School in Columbia, S. C. Enuring her senior year she was vice-president of her class, a member of the Physical Education and Dramatic Clubs, an honor student having spoken sit graduation. Miss Rutherford was granted a scholarship to ATleiT University jn 1936. At Allen she won the distinction of being on the honor roll for four years. During her Junior year she was presented a key and. bccamea member of the Parnassus Honorary Society.
