Despite the rain' early in the
morning, Friday, March 2P was a
| happy day for the school boys
and girls of Bamberg County.
I They were- very enthusiastic as
they participated in the various
contests and as they displayed
their exhibits.
Nine schools displayed very
creditable exhibits, receiving awards
as follows: Olar school,
Prof. CharJes-AJ^. Millan, Prin., 1st
prize; Ehrhardt school, Prof. L.
L. "Butler. Prin.,' 2nd piize; Voorhees
Model School, Miss M.
Chappell, Prin., did prize, and
Hopewell school, Mrs. Corine Dan

The host on field day was the
Richard Carroll Memorial Graded
School, Rev. S. I). 'Rickenbacker,
principal.
In the. basket ball game Bamberg
won over Ehrhardt. Both
teams played well.
We were graced with the presence
of Rev. Bownfan, who spoke
in interest of the Exposition in
May, with which the Association
promised to cooperate.

der way April -1th and 5th beginning
at 10 a.m., Thursday. The
following additional teams are in

Brown, Berkeley, Holly
It ill, Lake City, Kmgstree^ Manning,
Summerton and St. Paul
were members last year. All of
the foregoing teams will 'offer
strong competition.
All of the teams are better experienced
this eyar; however, .it
is difficult to pick out the winner
because of the better trained
teams. The dope favors Elloree
and t.ake City's boys and Berkeley
and St Patil's girls., Manning's*
girls and Berkeley's-^boys were

year.
