Mr.-~Raul Bowman, president of the Allen university club of Philadelphia,' Pa., was a visitor in the city" last week. Miss Rachel Spann is spending a week in Charleston, S. C., as the guest of Mrss Louise Middleton, 147 president street. Mrs. L. E. Rosemond, who has been ill and confined to her home all the summer left the C'ty Monday morning, August 14th to visit relatives and friends in Anderson county. -We hope that her health -- will be improved when she returns in September. Mrs. Angeline McClain at 2311 Gervars street and Mrs. Julia Young at 2310 Gervais will be thq guests of her brother in Ports-mouth. Va.(< for several days, leav ing August 18. Gordon has returned to the city, after spending her vacation in Detroit, Mich. She reports a pleasant stay.
