Whilse sitting in Prosperity. S. O
C., a few thoughts came across,
my mind in keeping with pros-1
perity the thing the world has ti
been looking for. But before 1 S
farther go let me state here, that A
we are well surrounded by gospel c<
tidings. That is the summer hi
series of meetings have been, and S
are being carried on in the vari- di
ous churches. Shiloh, Mt. Olive,
Boozer Chapel, Metropolitan and r?
St. James have just closed out m
their meetings with an array of th
good preaching, some finance and si
a few well seasoned converts? th
persons well up in age. Hannah's
and Antioch are now in progress Pi
and are anticipating great results
aeing manned by great gospel P?
preachers and large attendances. ar
It seems that our group thinks Ci
largely of_ August religions. I w
hink- they need them all along, ai
But I guess it has got to be a y<
custom with us why we do so. co
Because God wants us to come to yt
3im at anytime. But leadership ce
iave all to do with its people-! is
hink. So they act as they are M
aught by example; and words. .-I G<
There have been considerable ^Yc
?ome-coming and visiting recent- ^
y around Prosperity. Mrs. Mag- ^
fie Gallman has just got back 9?
rom a visit to Baltimore and
Philadelphia?to?see her children wi
ind while away she went to New th
fork to visit the World's Fair, si:
5he reports she had an enjoyable w<
iffair." Mrs. Inez Richardson is in
lere from Philadelphia visiting aii
ler mother, Mrs. KattiO Rikard. in
Mra. Carrie BaHey from Floida pti
ar. Klisha Boozer from Greens- yj
Villie May Linch from Winston- co
lalem, N.C., Mrs. Clorinda Brooks 3u
rom Newark, N. J.; all of which
ire visiting the meetings, friends Jo
ind relatives. And a number of^Di
ithers from all parts of the north St
lames I can't call here. | fo:
Also Mr. Sam Stephen and fam-|an
\y from Columbia, attending the
neeting at Antioch. ju
Now in keeping with my first gjj
hought about prosperity. It Qf
eems from the many visitors nn
rom the North, etc.. and the fine
ooking clothes and cars they have an
hat times are getting better. But trj
yhen I ponder and look at the pe
urroundings and the masses ?0
/horn are in need and the many
lependents that if the 'bird prin-}
iple was cut off from them what
bad fix they would be in. I
an't yet agree that the American
?eople are living in absolute pros-1
>erity. Nor as much as they need
o live on and with. I am told by.?At
nen who claim to know that Mi
here are millions in need that Di
ave never been employed and are Ls
n high class bread lines. The god
r gods that the masses of the ho
people of America look to for CI
'rosperjtv, T think m??nt grtfirl and
utrir pians would have went much
arther in bringing: about proserty
bad they been rightly carried
ut, but bias, diyimination and *n
eeragrated minded men or leadrs
under them failing to carry on
s directed caused a failure of the
ilans I believe. We are just
inhere, or worst^ than where we
tarted. I prophesied in a news- W?
>aper some years aero that there ,
vould be no general substantial ^
>rosperity in the world unless- all a
rroups be taken in the equation
md treated as God would have .
hem treated. My prophesy is m
'et holding: pood. In mv ponder-' ?
n? over things I decided this:
hat" we have-*- great civic government,
one "that hinted at denocracy,
I sav hinted at, because
t hasn't yet been carried out, in
ny judgement. ' j
I said state rights is a wonder-,
'ul thing when carried out acording
to principle or spirit of
he fundamental law. But when
hey broke from the fundamental
;ount of color, conditions or what
ind seeregate. discriminate, on aclot,
then I say state rights are
voeful, and causes the whole gov:rnment
to look like a failure, because
its laWS are Tint
he same with all of its citizens.
So general prosperity can't be un-1 I
il states stands by the fundamen- j
al principles of the government,
hold that a person or thing that
tas power to prevent a gross
vrong and won't do H is a guilty
is the violator. . , I
Now I was sitting in Prosper-! <
ty, S. C., thinking of prosperity! <
ind I finally decided that there <
ouldn't be no lasting general, 1
)rosperity until the churches of. ?
ill races take the leadership in
eaching and acting the principles' ' (
if good government. The Good
3ook teaches that all governments
lave failed that failed to carry opt j
;he principles of God. And I ;
lold they will ever fail,
1 am tired of hearing men
>oast of great governments and
