C., June 9?Miss Susie Mae Irick, a brilliant young school teacher died Friday evening at the home of her parents after an illness of a few days, "i Funeral services were held at Shilch A. M. E. church at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 11. Interment took place at Browning Branch cemetery. Although sh0 was still a youHg woman only 28 years of age, Miss Irick had engraved hct name on of the people-in- hei home town and the communities in which she taught. She was a faithful and loyal member in the church and Sunday school. She was a devested daughter and loving sister. Always ready and willing to do what she could for thP upbuilding of ^ "the Master's kingdom. After completing her high school work here in the city school, she attended Allen university one year, later completing her ^cojloge course in Education at Morris college, Sumter, S. C.~~ She served as teacher in the fol lowing schools: Pinewood graded school 3 years; Dalzel school 2 years; Hemincwnv sehool 3 vpars and Andrew high school 3 years. She was a member of the faculty of the latter at the time of her death. Funeral services wee chp,-sre of the Pastor. Rev. R. J. Jefter son. The obituary was read by Mrs. Ethel Williams. Telegrams and messages of condolence were rend by Prof. C. H. McLeod. Resolutions from the Sunday school by Miss Dorothy Haigler. Beautiful and appropriate solo arrd duet were rendered by Mrs. Ruth Williams v and ?M?sdames Blanche Collier and Marie Wilborn. Ret marks were made by Mr. C. C. Cheeseboro, her leader and Prof. Smith her principal. Rev. Jefferson delivered the impressive eulogy. ? ? She was the daughter of Mr. and?Mrs. Charlie Caldwell. M.-Higgins and others. At 8:00 P. M. the children's day program was rendered. Trinity A. M. E. Zion Church and singing choiy were on the program. Re_ - marks by Madam-Engloana?WiL burn, Mrs. Dot I.indler, Mrs. Dru_ cilla Norris, and Madam Queen Parks. Trinity's choir rendered splendid music. The well.filled npuse enjoyed toe program, i^an. ford Grove will be with Trinity in **" their program next Sundaly nite. There will be a ministerial propram at Lanford Grove on the 5th Sunday m July, beginning a'raTl'y for the remodeling of the church Rev. Irby will be the mastar of ceremonies.
