A fort-night later Rishop Flipper appointed a[ committee of 14 men to select a president for consideration of the! trustee board. The fourteen mem- j bership committee had a meeting in Columbia June 7, but what they did is a secret and has not been revealed to any one. Dr. W. D. Chappelle was chairman of the committee and presided over the session. Rev. and Mrs. Win. Gladden of the C. M. E. Church, who have worked for the past six years in Georgia and who on last vear ser ved as Presiding' Elder, have trans fcrred to the Virginia Conference where Bishop C. T.
