WEEPING MARY BAPTIST I
CHLRCH OF UPPER CALHOUN
Sunday, June 4th, was a great I
day with us and the pastt/r's 3rd
anniversary with this church. Our i
Sunday school was omitted for j
the children all were present at
the pool with the pastor where
he baptized one candidate at the
usual school hour. After the bap
tisrn the pastor returned to the
churoh and there was a great
number of people who afterwards
gathered to hear him preach. At '
1:30 services began. The lateness
of the hour was due to the
far distance fo the church from _j
the pool. The pastor at this time '
addressed the audience and se- 1
lected his text from the book'of j
St. Mark 7:29. Subject: "The Unlimited
Power of Faith". He
preached a soul stirring sermon. ,
A liberal collection was given. I
Recess was then taken after ;
which the congregation assembled
to hear the evening program
Music was rendered by St. James |
Baptist church choir."" A paper
was read by Miss Annie Williams ,
of New Life Baptist church of
Cayce, S. C. Subject: "All Kinds ,
if People". This was followed by ,
a song by four girls and a.reci- (
tation by little Miss Albertha ,
Williams of Weeping Mary^ Then j
Rev. W. M. Green the pastor of
the St. James Baptist church addressed
the audience and preach- t
id another soul stirring sermon, f
He selected his text from 'the book i
>f St. Matthews 16:18. Everybody ]
seemed to have enjoyed thfe ser- ]
mon. One person joined the
church. Another liberal" offering J
was given. Two selections were !
rendered by the Mt. Zion Baptist ]
ihurch Junior quartet and others, r
At the close of the evening pro- c
gram refreshment was served to r
the people. 8:30 p.m. Devotional <

ay the Pastor, Rev. Smith who se- 6
lected his text from St. John
4:13 and preached a very inter- r
isting sermon which brought much '
ioy to the people and another lib- ?
iral collection was taken. ' <
Three years ago when Rev. Rav fc

pastoial day three grown per- j
sons of this community met him
lere and now the people is turn- f
