Saturday, April 15, 1939 ST. JAMES A.M.E. CHURCH Rev. W. B. Nash, Pastor Sunday school was good as usual. The school wa? beautifully reviewed by the pastor. Junior class No. 1 is holding the banner. Mrs. Lola Cheeks teacher. Sunday morning after preliminaries the pastor stirred the audienfce with a wonderful sermon. At 3:30 the Easter program for the primary and intermediate department was very good. Much credit is due Mrs. H. M. Young, 'Mrs. Lola Cheeks, Miss Ellen Johnson and Miss CJaretta Kinard sponsors. At 8 o'clock-Ah.. pay eant entitled "The UnshaVfywed Cross" rendered?by the adult classes was excellent. Mrs. Bertha kewis sponsor, spared " no pains in making the pageant a sue cess. The Supt. BUSH, TEACHER IN AIKEN GRADED SCHOOL, * PASSES The funeral services of Rosa EL Bush was held in Friendship Baptist church on Tuesday, April 4, 1939. It was a very impressive service attended by a large audience. She was at one time, a teacher in the Ocean Grove School in Aiken County. She served with the N. Y. ' She was a very efficient teacher who had the interest of the children uppermost in her mind. She never failed when duty called her, but was always ready and willing with her best service. The-teachers and pupils will miss her for she made a place in the hearts of all she met. She leaves to mourn her loss a mother, Mrs Sara Marshall, a . father, Mr. James Marshall of Aiken, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Dickson of Greenville, S.
