12 met at the graded school to cele
bratc their first fields' day March
31. It was indeed a great day foi
pupils and teachers. The various
schools had their different projects
on exhibition. The 1st prize was
won by the Jerusalem school, 2nd
by the graded school and 3rd. by
the Rock Hill school.
Miss Isadora Thompson of the
Cedar Grove school carried home
hooty for the spelling Bee, which
had a representative from each
school.

Thursday March 30?The district
held its annual school achievement
day at the Younginer school, Mrs.
Zenahia Dixon-principal.
After a brief devotional period
including a song by Dean Boulwoi'c
of Iluibison lhstitute, follow
ed by a spiritual. The competitive
mark of classes began.
After a brief address by Mr. J.
B. Felton,-Mr. C. A. Johnson, the
guest speaker was presented. He
emphasized co-operation, and not
crucify needs for wants. Numbers
were rendered from Pine Grove,
Harbison and RosenwaJd schools.

Each school was well represen-1
ed with exhibits. Individuals could
see many things made from scraps
of cloth, burlap sacks, shucks pine

county and Richland county.
There they will stop in the Capital
City to visit Bocker Washing.ton
high school, Allen and Benedict
colleges,- State hospital,
Thomas .drug store, Waverlcy
Hospital, the colored movie and
other outstanding places.
The district field's day was
held ai Mt. Olive school Friday,
March 24 with a very large
crowd. Mt. Olive won first prise
in scrap book, map drawing, 150
yard dash; second prize in spelling.
Music was furnished by S.
C. boys.
We are happy t<y see Mr. T. M.
Fogle out again after being confined
to his bed several months.
