r~?-? Religious Census
The colored ministers and laity
! a? are undertaking the best religious
movement ever put forth in Charleston.
They have set apart the
second Sunday afternoon in Decomber
to canvass the city b y
wards so as to find those who> are
identified with some church and
thosq who are not. Persons who
do not belong to any church will
ences and that- pa rticular-^pastor
or pastors wifl contact them in
interest of the churches of?their
choice. It's an inspiration to see
how "the colored people here are
* cooperating with the Interdenominational
Ministers Union in put
tiryg over this program. Dr. R. E.
Brogdon, is chairman of the Census
Committee, and hq, is indeed
a master of the situation. Rev.
?: J. F. Henderson is-~seoretpry. He
is the right man-i? ihc-rlghL-place
Say what you will" but the time
has come ' when?Christian people
will have to manifest more interest
in the unsaved, if they will
merit the blessings of Almighty
-b? find. Sgemimrlv conditions in this
world" are going from had to wor?e
The white ministers of our city
launched such a campaign the
third "Sunday in rw.n ?y i n
which a thousand workers representing
every . white congregation
were enlisted including Jews and
Catholics. They stirred the - city
among white people, ana the results
were glorious. The white min
istcrs are furnishing the colored
the same literature they used -free
of charge. 1 believe every city in
Amercia .should engage in-such a
worthy movement together with
the rural churches, and Cod will
bestow blessings upon us. To be
continued.
