The contestants in the Declamation contest were: Eastmon Johnson and Catherine McCloud, Pev-, enth grade; Augustus Bruin an 1 Sara Riley, eighth grade; Carrie Green ard Archie Joiner, ninth gtade; Alice IIudson and Samuel Singleton, tenth grade. -These, speakers are t0 be commended for hoy exhibited that poise ard dignity that are to be found in colic^ speakers. The first place was won by <?ara Riley; second' olac by Archie Joinei^ both of Bluf ton and the third place by Samuel Singleton of Seabrook. The judges were Mr. T. H Seabrook.
