Interment was in Brown Chapel cemetery beside her husband the late Mr. Paul McClelIan who preceded her to the grave ^ ^ three years-ago. Mrs. McClellan j died in Baltimore, Md. Oxloy, Field Representative. U. S. Employ mcnt Service, Department of Labor announces the appointment of Rufus Lee Thompson as an administrative assistant in the Ohio-State Employment Service. M:. Thompson, a resident of Akron. Ohio, was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and graduated lrom the high sGv-ol ;u thaX'crty; rr ceived h- Bachelor of Arts degree from Akron university in 1930, and did graduate work in lWRr ami . 10OT. Later Mr. Thompson became Distriet Supcx visnv for the Domestic Life and Ac cident Insurance company: and from November 1934 to April 1939 be served as a member of the start of the Ohio State Department >>f Public Welfare and just prior to joining the staff of the Ohio State Employment Service. Mr. 'Thompson was employed as Relief Kxaminer for the State.of Ohio in Clovt land. This more recent appointment of an administrative assistant' joins- Ohio in the rank-* of those states offering opportunity to qualified Negroes to shar^ in solving the great problem of unemployment.
