Following the regular custom, Supt. Floyd of (Miller's chapel and a number of his ?teachers, scholars and members were present at our Easter exercises'. Miss HJeTen Nance of Laurens, S. tJ., a former teacher at Drayton St. Hi .school was among the out of town guests. We were more than glad to have all visitors andfriends worship with us Sunday morning-and night. - The young men -and women that weie liuine for Easter are as follows: Misses Meta Henderson and Mamie Sanders of Voorhees Insttute; Nancy Halty and Mr. Sligh of Bettis Academy and Miss Eddie Mae Worthy who has been teaching in'the low part of the state. The program was very good^ With this Busy Bee club moving onward and upward we must move fast if we hope to stay out - of their way. They san sing, speak, and recite well. A large prowd attended and all of the child ren played their parts well. ~ During Sunday school hour the service was enjoyed by all. Prof. Der rick and other musicians of the city and Newberry college said he is one of the best they have ever heard.?Miss H. E. Wilson and his wife from Union motored to our city and carried Mri Grant and her children to Florence to spend the week-end. They reported a very pleasant trip. The Easter parade in our city was beautiful. All of the churcherr had very good exercises Sunday from 5:00 a.m. until throughout the evening services. The Newberry County Teachers association held its last meeting for the year April 8, 1938 in the auditoruim of Drayton Street Hi school. The association has made rapid progress under the leadership of Professor T. R. Logan. Officers for the year 1938-39 were elected. They are as follows: Professor William Wade, president; Professor H. B. Kikard, vice-president; "Miss Theola Ar Spigner, secretary; Miss Ruth Thompson. assistant secretary; Mrs. Bessie Fair, treasurer. The group adjourned to meet at the beginning of the coming year.
