our great church never made a bet
ter selection for that office in its
history. No question about it there
will be a new day now in the Extension
of Athp A. M. E. Church
by electing him. He is. fully qualifrom
a business standpoint for that(
post. The Church Extension depart
ment like one or two ethers of our |
church should never be given to
persons just out of breadlines or
who have been on their way to the
ragman. Dr. Hemingway, whom
we advocated in our column as well
as in our contact will be a blessing
to our church. There are some positions
in our Zion that should not
be giv?ui to paupers. It's a^temptation
to induce them to bo'dishor.est.
Some may contest this statement
by referring to poverty
stricken disciples and vVen. Jesus j
Christ.. We will admit that the
disciples wyre not millionaires but
what they lacked in finance they
tnado up in power. For they could
heal the sick, raise the dead and
cast out .devils. But some of these
Negro aspirants of today have no
money, po\v^ n'or sense, a n d(
