The funeral services for Deacon
Weathers, of Second. Wilson Baptist
church were held, there Sunday
afternoon. Hundreds attended
Several white friends took part in
the service, A solo was sung by
a white friend, and-his accompan-i-t
was the organist of one of the
white churches of the city.* For
years he had been porter at the
People's National Bank. The entire
Bank staff was present. Floral tributes
were many. Deacon Weathers
was very highly respected. Rev.
Mahoney the pastor, pretfeher the',
sermon. The deceased left a wife
and several children.
Mrs. Caroline Guess died Thursday
after a long illness. Funeral
services Were held at the home
Saturday morning.' The sermon
was preached'by'Rev. J. C. Honor.
