SUMMER SCHOOL IN SESSION The Greenville summer school is under the direction of the State Department of Education to aid tion in professional! growth and efficiency. ? This summer school has been in session two weeks with about 170 teachers from five counties attend' ing. We are proud to note that this summer slhool ranks among: the leading district summer schools of South Carcdna. Because it is in Greenville, the Textile center of the South; because of the mountainous situation of Greenville; because of the new modern equipment at Sterling Hi, and Parker Hi (white) where classes are held, because of the cooperatiqp of Furman university; because the PhyKis Wheatlay library is at th# disposal of wwr ?i|p fw the teachers and last, because of n carefYilly selected faculty nutkt-s thi8 summer school a helpful, healthful and wonderful pace to. be. After hard work during the day the teachers are not too tired to assem-ble in chapel one hour to reverence God and listen to other features. There is a new program each day so it keeps one eager toknew -whatis. going to happen and by >o do-ing it keeps the spirit high. Among the visitors: Mr. Schil'f* ley who has the work of Negro schools at heart, was .oh/ uf our visitors.
