A called meeting of the Ministers' Wives alliance was held at the home of Mrs. M. L. Duckott, Benedict campus, June 14th to arrant for the lawn social which was to take place on Benedict cam pus June 17th on the lawn of Rev. andMrs. T. L. D-uckett. On that date according to arrangements, the ladies of jhe alliance with their husbands and guests, were present and looking cheerful ano HaiPpy. Although the afternoon was a little cCoudy, yet everything passed oil very pleasantly. Some amusing games were played which brought to them the days of child hood and gladness.. Present. Fathers Day was unserved in a manner?HnrF met the approval of all. Dr. Lemon left on Monday for Memphis,Tenn., to attend the Sesqui-Centennial of the A.M.E. Chuieh. We feel that contacts made at this meeting will result in much good to all who have the pleasure of attending the meeting. Morris Brown oould not afford to miss representation at meetings of this kind."' Our Quarterly Conference is scheduled for the 2nd Sunday in July 1937. Morris Brown is looking fine in her new dress of paint;, and ie the attractive spot on Morris St. Our people are rallying to the call of Dr. Lemon in no uncertain way, and success seems assured Our members sojourning in New York City report that they are enjoying their stay in the Metropolis. There are no more, active workers to be found, than some of the women of our church. Notably in this regard are Mrs. L.G. Davis, Mrs. L. Smalls, Mrs Carrie I.anbright and others ' who feel ? that the interest of Morris Brown are their interests. Among the male members of the church are to be found such self sacrificing workers as Mr. Wm. II. Simmons, D. L. Green. Rufus Jones, F Macanic, Ben White-and others whose names will find place in the church news from Morris Brown in the near future. It will be a pleasure for U8-( to let people all over S. C.. and as far as the Palmetto Leader is read, know who make it possible for our church to func tion thru their leadership and initiative efforts. Sunday being Father's Day our pastor brought us a special message about father; a message that was powerful and s oarching. Sunday evening at 4 Rev. P. Wallace spoke under the auspices of the Missionary Society, and his subject was A Call to Faith. He delivered a soul stirring sermon to those that were present. At the regular nigKt services our pastor brought us another I strong message, a message about the man on the road to Jericho, i Tdsus hoard his ci ies and gave him back his sight. The Sunday "school opened at. 11 o'clock with Supt'. J. S. Rutherford at his pc/st. After the Sabbath school a live prayer meeting was conducted bj Dea. S. M. Henderson, the pastor ascended the rostrum at 13 o'clock and began service. He selected Genesis 37:20 as his text from this he uOhvered a soul stirring message. Rev. J. J. Sunday school opened and called to order by Supt. E. T. Tucker and officers at their post. The lesson was well read and i.tiscussed by the school after which the pastor preached from Dan. 6:10. The congregation seemed to have enjoyed the message. At 3:30 o'clock the Missionary had a successful program. The young people's choir of- St. Luke sang for them. Services were good at Seek Well Baptist church, Sunday school at the usual hour by the superntendent and officers at their post of duty. The lesson was well tyaught a^fter which the Pastor Rev.
