POETIC
MEDITATIONS
By Herbert Eli Dickson S
OF SUMMER NIGHTS AND '
A THOUGHT
There are. mo nights move
beautiful than these!
Their jeweled sky. . . .
Their silhouetted trees . .
Are much too much ;
Foij me to sit and stare,
Unmindful that j
They're beautiful or there! >
<
Nov thought there is, j
Desirable than this: I
The dusky girl (
With gleaming eyes of bliss, ]
Against the white <
World is a silhouette, ]
M ith twinkling eyes , |
. Of love around her sc^!
<This poem is respectfully dedi- ]
' catod to my friend, IVfiss Graw- I
Vera Postles.) (

The entire community was sorry
to hear of the Mt. Frospect
Baptist church burning down on
thc night of May 23. We hope they '
are planning to. rebuild soon.
The old folk program which was
* sponsored by the usher board Sun *
day night past was highly enjoyed
by the young folk. In the history
of the church an_old folk
program hasn't ever been before.
The old mothers and fathers recited
and sang ducts and quartets.
They also had a choir of their own.
