20, at Onion Baptist church was
held a colored doll contest, sponsored
by Miss Edna Butler. TWerJ
were lour contestants, each trying
to win oiie of the four prizes
given. Two colored dolls were
given to the ones raising the two
highest amounts of money. Three
churches-wore represented: Ant-foch,
Sidney Park and Union Baptists
The contestant coming from
Antioeh church raised the highest
amount of money arid received

greatest organization that we ,
have. And since it Is the greatest,
we should have the greatest love ,
for it. He spoke of the dollar
money, and how it is divided, and j
he urged that we get-more mem- ,
bers of our churches to pay dollar
money. He said that one eighth of ,
this dollar money is applied fpr ,
our* government, of the church and t
that he would not belong to any
church that had no government ,
and he urge all the ministers to i
organize^ their churches ~ arid put ,
the young people to work. He 1
further said that St. Philip was .
better organized than any church
he knew of in South Carolina un- ^
der the present leader. He spoke ,
of his work in Union. Chapel sta- '
tit>n, Ridgewood, and other places :
where he had pastored and succeed \
