Mrs. Minnie Jordon brought to us a spiritual sermon, text, Job 1:7; Theme: "Have Faith in God." Sunday night >he preached a soul stirring sermon . to an appreciative crowd, from the subject: "Watch that ye enter not into temptation." Our newly oppointed pastor was with us and We certainly thank the good bishop and presiding elder for his return. We are hoping to make this a red letter year. We enjoyed encoifraaring remarks by Mr. A. B. Harris, a delegate to the Annual conference, at Newberry, S. C- He is one of our leading o-.-fieers and -we feel^proucTbr him. Here \v<e are again, beginning a ney' conference year. We all were out in gieat number Sunday to hear our old and new pastor. Everyone that heard this sermon :a.i truly say their heart was touched. After the sermon the Lord's . Supper was administered. The finance for the beginnjjng of the year was very splendid. In the Popularity Contest Miss Reather Bellamy having rai.-ed $2.51 which was the highest amount, won a silk dress. Miss Geneva Crawford, the 2nd highest $1.30 won a print dress. This was the work, of the Sun Beam club. The Sun-Beam club also bought new shades for the parsonage which were presented to the Stewardess by Miss Reathor Bellamy, We were very glad to see. so many of our Baptist friends wor shiping with us Sunday. On the 4th Sunday, Rev. Z. Mace ol Latta, S. C. will preach it Mt. Zion church, at 11:30 a. m. The Mt. Zion school under the luthority of Prof. Monroe, Miss I. Hampton and I. Daniels is doing splendid' things. They are progressing very rapidly. There will be a box supper at the school Saturday night. They are asking each and everyone to please come out and help them. The Little River school undei the leadership of Prof. Bowman ind M. Ward is doing fine! They are in hope of entering the new ichool building in the next twenty lays or less. We are glad to see Mrs. Beatrice Gause and Mr. Jake Evans iut again in the Sunshine, after ?oing through an operation. At this writing, Mrs. Mary Bryant [is very ill. The pastor delivered a very timely message which inspired the hearts of all. His text was found Psalms 33:4. The many visitors were made welcome and invited to wor-hip with us again at any timer Night service began at 7:30 p. m. The pastor again delivered a very fine message which contained much food for thought. After the usual* part of the service was over, the pastor called for the reports of the 'Rally Clubs". The rally was divided into two divisions, the Reds and the Blues with five, captains on each side. The standing clubs reported $258.50. The "Reds" $111.00; the "Blues" $131.64. E. church, with our presiding elder, pastor and district S. S. Supt., all present. This being our first quarter the Sunday school was opened by the assistant Supt., and i then turned over to the District Supt., Prof. P. C. Legett. He took charge and the Hassan wei-e jii tanged and the teachers took up the class work. The district superintendent presented the pastor and he presented the Presiding Elder, Dr. J. S. Coe to review the lesson. This he did in short hut instructive and also gave words of encouragement to the school.
