The Rev. Burrick acting as host. After a short program and business discussion, we were ha"ppy to have introduced to us Presiding Elder E. F. G. Dent of the Columbia District. His address was timely as well as instructive. Surely we are a great people, when our aim is for the uplifting of humanity, declared Dr. Dent Each person present upbraided himself on having listen to such an eloquent address. Wo were happy .to see th^ smiling faces of old members and especially the Rev. B. C. _ Burton, who has returned to the city. The meeting was opened by singing "I Come to the Garden," Scripture reading hy each member. This ended the devotional exercises. The President took charge of the meeting who had a very short meeting on the account of a surprise party .yas given for the girls of the club, Every body enjoyed themselves. - I -am- sure,- and we wish to- thank Mr. Willis Bates for the party and we weret very glad to have Mrs. Annie McCoy with us, from Asheville, N. C. who is spending two weeks here -with Mrs. Gertrude Brown. We had several guests, also and I am sure they enjoyed .themselves to the highest. After, one of the members offered prayer the minutes were read. Another member was annexed to the club and there are many prospects for several others__pn next club meeting night. A business discussion came up after the- reading of the minutes and plana for a program that the club' is going to sponsor were well drawn up and carefully work- : ed out. This program that the club is sponsoring will be wholly ' composed of talent of the club. Mrs. Marion Paul, State Home Agent, told about the part women can play in this program of making Home and Farm Life better.
