It's quite difficult to keep' the
skin of the hands and arms soft
and clear. Housework which keeps
our hands thrust in hot soapy
water or near a hot stove has a
tendency to make the skm ?dry,
cracked and ?unattractive.?Dust and
dirt work their way into the
hands to make the problem?even
more difficult.
But beautiful hands are such an
important asset in our appearance
that it is well worth while'to give
them the care and attention neccessary
to keep them ^attractive
The caresscs of soft.~?*unooth fingers
are magic element in rontance.
- ;
A simple and inexpensive way
Yd keep the skin of your hands
from drying is to massage them
regularly with ordinary olive oil.
Many women whose hands are th<
tnvy of their friends make it a

nearly every night before
retiring.
If thpre are hard, calloused
patches on .the palms of your
hands.~rtV an ? exreBtmt - idea to
rub tlk'se-Kpots gently with, tin
emery, board you use on your nails
before rubbing in the olive oil.
This permits the oil to penetrate
deeper into the skiiy instead of being
wasted on the tough outer laycr.
It's a good idea, too. to wea>- i
pair of light, cloth gloves at nigh'
to keep the the oil on the hands
alpl allow it to work its way
thoroughly into the skin, Yoi
ran wear the same pair of glovctr'
to protect the hands frojn dirt
while dusting or .performing other
household tasks. Be careful to
wash the gloves.whenever they become
soiled, or they will merely
rub dirt into the skin.
Some women wear rubber gloves
when .they are doing cleaning
which requires the use of . soapand
chemicals which have a tendency'to
dry the hands. Although
the glove* do protect the hands,, it
is not absolutely necessary to wear
them, especially if you.are careful
to wash the hands with, a good
grade of soap afterwards. And
