The high school division was held at Second Ward High School and the college division was held at Johnson C. Smith university. Each of the divisions was largely attended. Leevy, i ... v HOLLY HILL NEWS The Holly Hill girls' basketball team played, a very interesting game "with the Lincoln High of Sumter on the Holly Illil Campus on the 28th of Feb. It was surely a thrilling moment when the scores ran tye, tye, but in the last quarter Lincoln gained on us, closing the game with 28-17 in favor of Lincoln. Both teams played well. Several of the mem bers of Lincoln'? faculty and a few citizens of Sumter accomnan ie<l the team. They were highly pleased with the entertainmnct they received. A large?crowd, attended service at the Lovely Hill Baptist Church rail day. The pastor, Rev. Hooks preached a soul stirring sermon from St. Matthew 1st chapter and 21st verse, subject "Thou shall call His name'Jesus; for if Is He that saves his people from sin." The Laurel Hill Sunday school .opened at 10:30 by the..Supt. Jas. Campbell. The lesson was beautifully taught by all the teachers. There was a large crowd out today. After the Sunday school adjourned we went out to Cood Hope church of which Rev. Wilson is pastor. C. were the dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ancfrew Fuller Sunday evening at the resident of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Shelton, 212 Williams St., M?iss Ella Duckeft was able to be out Sunday after being ill for a period of two weeks, she was a dinner guest of Mrs. Shelton. Teachers' Association held its last meeting for the year at Reed Street High Sohool Saturday morning, /vpni iiin, at iu u ciwk. i ne groups met promptly under their leaders. The Primary Group under the leadership of Mrs. .Peek and Miss Wilson, was conducted by Miss Wilson. The first of the period was spent in tin- lead r thanking-?the?teachers?.for rnoperation so nicely with her during the year. Then she gave a little check up on the work covered during tho year. Number-work was the. discussion and all-entered into it heartily. -The teaching, of Combinations were discussed and demonstrated. The following paints were outlined: 1st Teaching the combinations; 2nd Use of objects; 3rd Problems;' 1th Tost; 5th Recording Results. The Intermediate Group didn't function. The High" School Group under th; leadership of Prof. Gallman and Mrs .Perry was nicely attended. The first part of the period Prof. Gallman gave^a few remarks and called for the report of the High School Group of the State Teachers' Association. This report was given bv Mrs. Marion, as she was appointed by this group to report on .same. Prof. Outright discussed very ably "Correlating Citizenship in the High School Subjects."
