TEACHERS' MEET
<By E. Clayton Rivers, Jr.)
The Teachers* Association of

or came before the group and along
with the -teachers she took a
retrospective account of the year's
vfork thus far. It was clearly
seen that the work dene in this
county during the term is and has
been of a very high type. This
l*uecess has been contributed in a
major sense to the new text-book
Rental System which has been
made possible by our county su-:
perintendent.
The group meetings, originated
lit v 1110 VVUIIVJ uy \J Ul OUJICI VI5UI ,
Mrs. Thelnia Miller Odom, were also
a major topic of discussion.
These meetings were rated as having
been highly successful and ultimately
beneficial.
The prizes for the sales of Xmas
Seals were also awarded. After
a .long interval of analyzing and |
debating, the meeting was climaxed
with passage of the- Hammitt
Resolution which is in substance
that the school in this county who
.would-first -match-the-l'efund from
the State Teacers' Association
would without question obtain the
said refund for its building improvement.
, :
The majority of our four-month
schools have been given six months
this J-ear. They are closing now. This
local body gratefully acknowledges
the hearty'cooperation
of these teachers and schools who
have labored amidst so many hardships
and yet have been-able-to
triumph over some of the "tradi*
icnal impediments.
