" MORRIS BROWN A, M. E. CHURCH Rev. J. W. Witherspoon, Pastor Brown last Sunday, were well at;ended, and the spirit of the Lord ,vas manifested in the services. A esson from the birds was the heme that the pastor spoke to ;he children about, and the little 5nes were delighted with the lesion. Dr. J. W. Witherspoon preacned at ll a. tn. from the text found in St. Matthew, 22nd chap:er and 42nd verse. Tho subject of Lhe discourse was "What think ye y{ Christ." The large congregaton was swayed by the eloquent sermon rlelivered. A large crowd communed in this service. Personal opinion of Christ, was stress ad in the sermon. The Sunday school and League functioned as usual effectively at their respective hours. - The evening -sermon . was preached by Dr. J. S. Morant, who selected as a text, St. Matthew 2&th chapter, "The parable of the talents was developed in a gospel sermon by the speaker Dr. Morant is one of the pioneers in our church in South Carolina. While not in the active ministry, his presence at Morris Brown is always welcomed. . Our 2nd quarterly conference will convene on Friday, March" 6th. 1926. ' Dr. Rj E. Brogdon will preach on, the 2nd Sunday. Dr. M. A. Hollins, aitd Dr. Sandy Simmons are both con fined in bed at this writing. These pioneers have the prayers, and ths. sympathy of the church in Charleston. ThY Holy Communion was administered at both services on last Sunday. Morris Brown is now busy with the Rally that terminates on March 30th, 1936. Our forces are organized,- and we are looking for success in this effort. Sister Josephine Cook of class No. 26 was funeralized last Wednesday at the church.
