CLAFLIN'WINS 2 IN A ROW
L Orangeburg, S. C. Feb. 23?'
Claflin "Panthers'* are still reign
Hing over its-opponents in a -bigway.
They took on two. teams on
two consecutive nights who would
hold the best plenty of competition
and won both games with points tc
spare.
Tuesday night, after the Claflin
girls had won a very hard fought
-* . game from Allen University by
the score of 13-17, which was featured
by the excellent guarding ot*
a Captain Wilrner Nelson and MeBride
and 'also the spectacular
shots by P. Robinson and llill, the
boys took the floor and as soon as
the game started the Claflin team
began to tick just like an elgin
watch until at half time the score
stood 28-8 Claflin. Ccach "Bill"
Knight sent in his reserves feo
that they, would get some experience
of real competition before the
tournament which will be held in
Augusta,, Ga. Feb.. 28*29. But it
, ** was not long before lie had to:
rush his "regulars" in to check the i
farst advances of the "Eagles." The
entire "first five" showed -up well, |
as usual. The final score was 37- j
25 in favor of Claflin.
Wednesday night Claflin took on
the strong team" from Mon istown,
Tenl'.. Before the game, the dope
was that the "Panthers" victory
march would be halted which caused
no little bit of concern from

in the panic with full force and before
the Morristown team was able
to score AVillis and Stewart had
piled up a lead of 13 points. The
first half ended with only one man
who had started the game.
In the second half, the entire ;
; "second five" played practically all
of the last half. McCombs, at
puard showed uome real defcivivj
work. Wideman, at center,^ relieved
Noely . for t he?fii'it?time ;
this?aeaauii_ta. ,_auy 'decree. , lie .
showed up well. Mack, at forward
. "was easily the best passer on the
floor. The game ended with the
score ^.1-10 in uaiiin s lavor.
? This marks the 1 Ith victory tha+r
Claflin has achieved for the season
against one defeat.
