More people ,jjjl should have heard this wonderful sermon. So many beautiful illustrations were brought out. The A smallest could understand it. At 4:00 p. m. the Ordination services were held for Revs. E. M. Keitt and H. W. Harrison, The latter-having served the Sunday School as superintendent for 17 years was given a short'program by the Sunday School to show 4 their appreciation for this noble service. Music was furnished for the occasion by the Sunday School choir. ' Mr. Harrison as superintendent. Miss R? Watson; solo, Miss P. Watson; The Crying1 need for Bet* ter Men, Mr. Dillard; poem,, The Call to Services, Miss Juliet ItaiIford; the Ordination sermon was preached by the pastor. It was also a fine sermon; it held the audience spell bound. This being the last service of the day collection was taken arid we were dismissed by Rev. Mvj j ' Keitt. We were led in prayer by Mr. Wiley Williams, the president of the club. The program was centered around "The Negro". We had a large crowd out Sunday and we are asking them to come again next Sunday, February 16th to hear our program. Our topic will be "How Far Should Authority Be Respected?". Her subject "Leisure time taken in different ways." She made a very interesting talk on the subject and the Alliance was much pleased with the interest she mani fested in dealing: with the subject, 8ome of the ladies asked- her- several questions about some things pertaining to the welfare of our oitlzens to which she kindly gave the necessary information. At the close of her talk she bade us good bye and Bajd she was willing to give u? ahy information at an time. Having been absent from the city for quite a while is the reason for her absence for so long a time. A visitor in the person of Mrs. Griffin was with us and expressed herself as enjoying the meeting very much. Resolutions were read and adopt ed and. sent to Mrs. Elliott in reference to the death of her daughter and commending her and the family to the good Lord who doeth all -Hhings well and as he sees best. A poet made a wise statement when he said "If we could?see tre~ God " sees, we would do as-God does." > The weather has been very much against our meetings this winter, thus, far but the following ladies of the Alliance have, weathered it out 'and got to the last meeting which met at Mrs. Stalks' home?Mrs. E. M. Owens, E. I. Duckett, M. F. Brown, Mrs. Herbert and Mrs. Lew" is, our secretary, and Mrs. A. M. Hughey. Your presence was highly appreciated.?Come again to the ne\t meeting.
