the occasion by the Sunday School
choir. '

subject "Leisure time taken
in different ways." She made a
very interesting talk on the subject
and the Alliance was much
pleased with the interest she mani
fested in dealing: with the subject,
8ome of the ladies asked- her- several
questions about some things
pertaining to the welfare of our
oitlzens to which she kindly gave
the necessary information. At
the close of her talk she bade us
good bye and Bajd she was willing
to give u? ahy information at an time.
A compiittee was then appointed
t to attend some civic work for the
benefit of our people here in Columbia.

the reason for her absence for so
long a time. A visitor in the person
of Mrs. Griffin was with us and
expressed herself as enjoying the
meeting very much.
Resolutions were read and adopt
ed and. sent to Mrs. Elliott in reference
to the death of her daughter
and commending her and the family
to the good Lord who doeth all
-Hhings well and as he sees best. A
poet made a wise statement when
he said "If we could?see tre~ God "
sees, we would do as-God does." >
The weather has been very much
against our meetings this winter,
thus, far but the following ladies of
the Alliance have, weathered it out
'and got to the last meeting which
met at Mrs. Stalks' home?Mrs.
