BRAIN ERD INSTITUTE NEWS
Ruth L. Howell Harris
.Brainerd co-workers and students
have begun the third week
of work for the New Year with
keen interest and enthusiasm.
At eleven o'clock Sunday morning,
January 12, teachers and stu
dents of the Inst, worshipped with
the?pasrtor, membeis and friends
at the Carmel Presbyterian
Church. Rev. J. W. Manoney delivered
a very timely sermon
from Jer. 17:* 9, and the' subject
"The Central Principale in Man."
This message was instrumental, in
preparing us to enter into the
Communion service, which was an
extension of the regular services,
worship! ul service were continued
for our group at four* o'clock
in the dining hall, where everybody
studied the Sabbath school
lesson at length. The lesson was
concluded with the use of' versa
from the Bible in which was found
the word "need, needy or needful."
We feel that too much
stress can not be placed on the im
portance of having a strong
"spiritual safety factor." At the
close of the study of th( Sabbath
School lesson, the Christian Endeavor
Society had an instructive
worshipful service. The subject,
"Sciences, A Growing -Brotherhood,"
was discussed from many,
angles. We -trust that such dis-"
cussions will help to prepare our
young people to meet life's problems
more courageously and undei
standingly.
