College, Kittrcll, N. C. The
question .%fftse in. our minds as to
^ who we jy#uld Ret as pastor of this
church to bring St back to its pristine
beauty and Standing in this
9S!BSSr community. Some of us approached
the presiding BIshopTof t)he
District in the person ' of1" Bishop
Monroe H. Davis, who we all have
grown to -10 ve anl^-a^teem: and describe
the kind of leadership* that
|lt it woul<f take to bring Trinity
W Church back where it rightly be^
longs in this community.
The good Bishop told us to leave
? it up to him and he would find the
roan. We took him at his word
ami went to our fiomes and waited
hig action. In a few "days there
after, there appeaped on the scene
a minister who none of us know
It was said that he had been the
successful! pastor of the following
Churches and Qpm?regations: First
Bethel Church Kansas City Mo.,
Y where stands to his credit one of
the most beautiful edifice built by

yoars and .during - that time, he
bought for that congregation prop

thousand dollars, he beautifiW the
church,.-put in a new heating plant
put in a fine .pipe organ with all
modern electrical equipments and
chimes, and*tore down the old'delapadatcd
parsohage in Vhe Connection.
Third, hi? WIL< s^nt. from
New Orleans to take the-pastorate
of Quinn Chapel, Chicago, this is
said to be one of th'e most out*
standing Congregation in that city.
There he found a perplexing problem;
yet with his pleasing personality
and ^v?n disposition, . hi?
$eon won the respect .and confidence,-tff**th
4 entire congregation
and the cty 4in general and was
able to bring pence and harmony
in the church as had not existed
in many yeax-s. That church grew
ne\w features were added and debts
by leaps and bounds and many
paid and improvements made.
Fourth, Dr. Dawson was called at

of beauty, peace and harmony have
Ix-en restored in the church to such
extent that we have just- closed
our Fall rally with more than $2,
500.00 raised and the people are
rejoicing. Dr. Dawson is truly a
leader of men.. He knows how to
general his force an<? get results.
One >vill have to study him to !
know him. From the most humble I
to the most exalted can approach
hint He would measure up to the
New Testament standard of a Bis>

would make no mistake in electing
Dr. Dawson, to the Bishopric
really the church needs his type on
the b;:nch. He-has been fortu'pate
in selecting for a wife one of the
"sweetest disposition women we
ha\e worked With for many years,
our church rovers and respect her,
she is lovable. She would give
grace and dignity to the office of
a Bishop's wife.
She never interfares with the
running of the-church and never
complains but simply does.--her.
work among the ^membership -ofthe
church. Long may they .live
to give service. We. hope to live
long enough to see Dr. Dawson as
one of the Bishops of our church
