Hilary Roosevelt -Coles and Mr. arid Mrs. John a Sligh s cotton anniversary occured Friday evening, Nov. 15, with a dual reception given by Mrs?Rosa Davis, honoring her laughters and s'onst-in-law. At 8 jrclock the guests, which numbered about one hundred, began to assemble anjj entered the living room, where many beautiful gifts weje displayed. rhe house was filled with flowers .hat were all loving gifts from" friends and relatives to the beloved arides and bridegrooms on their first Anniversary. Autumn leaves in attractive shades.,'decorated the rooms and in the hall and throughout the lower floor were tall vases filled with yellow chrysanthemums. On the mantles and elsewhere in the rooms aurned red candles in brass candle ticksets. On the center of the table n, the dining room was the elaboratey decorated cake. A delicious course ivas served. "R. Morris is in charge bloomed forth in all its glory ' on Thanksgiving Day. Turkeys, pumpkins, foliage and all the artis- j tic ornaments vjere, used in making ths marvelous appearance. The Cafeteria was decorated by ^ the members of the Industrial Arts Club, under the guidance of Prof. Gladys P. Graham of the Department of Education. AH these decorations i were made by members of the Industrial Arts Club. The club plans to gain added experience in interior decorating by making the dining hall the scene of seasonal decorations. . The club was very much impiessed by the program given by the members of Mrs. Slaughter Industrial Arts- Classes on?November 23rd, at Benedict College. They gained a deal of information and enjoyment: Several membeus of the Industrial Arts Classes who' reside in Coppin of the program was due to the thorough diffusion among the student .body of spiijt of an anticipated monies and the energc-tir interest of those involved coupled with a profound spirit, and love for Allen bore the football team on to a glorious victory on the next day. Dr. Daniels introduced Dr. Mance who was the principle speaker. 1M\ Maine's ?dissertation was filled with admonitions to the student body and team and appeals for a victory. The A. U. Club representation present at Allen on Wednesday comprised of Prof, and Mrs. Peguese, Dr. Mance, l)r. Daniels, Mrs. Holman, is due lots of credit for the far-reaching interest they show towards the school and- its auxiliaries. Religious Activities On Sunday morning Rev. Robert Green preached to the-student body After Sunday School was had. In he afternoon the A. C. E. League under Mr. Harold Richardson held tte usual meeting.
