BOTTLE CARRIES MESSAGE

_ Charleston, Soth Carolina, Dec. 21?
M. Baxter, fifteen year old Negrc
youth who has a fondness for throwing
overboard1 bottles with message:
in them to roam the sea to the far
places of the earth, has been rpward:

and tho bottle, tagging along,' traveled
at the rate of-near-ty-four mile.an
hour along the lane of the ocean

Swept into tho English channel
the bottle finally came to rest on tlu
coast of Sussex, where it was picket!

Baxter, who works for the Union

' "I Caving found a bottle with a

This was picked up on the Sussex
coast at Eamlev at a point between

-Thr? InttiT wns dated from Ityhrnor

how long the bottle took to cross the
Atlantic are far from correct, however
since Baxter threw the bottle
overboard August 29. Baxter lives
at 10 1-2 America street. He intends
?- to-throw a not her-bottle overboard at
the first opportunity. ^
