Too ^lany Standing Idle ?
In our latter day revivals*we havetoo
many professed Christians, .that
are perfectly satisfied to do nofhing
in them but look on. ' They take no part
in the singing. None whatever
in the paying, and inpraying is just
of the question. When it comes to
disobeying the commands in the revivals,
they lead the sinners. When
the order is given to stand they..
keep~?;*heir? seats. When asked to
draw near the altar for special consecration,
that which they so much
need, they \ willfu\ y refuse. Then
when you must turn from a disobedient
band of Christians to- appeal to
sinners they feel themselves licensed
to do like-wise. Could you bianic
?them?' It would" be "far better for
such Christians to stay at home, .hen
to attend revivals as bad examples f.;:
the unsaved. They must veir.enibe
that the sinners of the congregation
are froln their own ftrc-ide, and-many
of them are unsaved because there
were no family Altars in those h</m?

Improve Revival Methods"'"
In the revivals of today the evangelist,
or conductor need not hope to
get desired results by simply preaching
great semons followed by the usual
appeal for prayer. His first effort
should be to organize the Xhi istiansin
bands and commit)tees and put
them to work in interest of lost souls
