Sunday Schools were in full bloom and officials were at their post. The lesson was very interesting to all. Many visitors were also present, namely: Prof, George Saxon formerly of this city, but now of Pennslyvania & Mrs. Lula Putman; Prof. Crosby, Mrs. Evdent of Shotter College, Little Rock. Ark., filled the - j>ulpi.t both morning and evening. Sunday morning 11:00 A. M. his text was taken from Isaiah 6:G-"8; his subject'being-"Here am Isend me." This was one of the greatest^sermons listened to. At night he preached another soul stirring sermon.. - A large crowd from other-de nominations were also present. Turner delivered one 3 of his masterly sermons to a large 4" audience. Rev. Turner is improving" 3 in his voice which has been in a bnd s condition since 1928. We pray for his continued recovery. ^ Thiv puusing of Rev. E.?D. Gray ' t caused much sorrow, and regret. 1^ was untimely Rev. Gray was born 3 Jan. 1, 1889 and departed this life s May 19,. 1931. He attended public rr school of the county and obtained a ^ fair education and was one of the | - oesi read men of the community. He was the trusted secretary of Jerusalem A. M. E. Ghurch here for " 10 years succeeding Rev. S A. Hughes. He joined the Palmetto Conference in 1924 and was Ordained Elder in 1930 at Georgetown by Bishop Ransom. The committees report on ttye works were made and approved. t.. Our next meeting will be at Land Bed Church in Sentepiber. ST. MATTHEWS NEWS M rs. Mary Matthews has returned fium New York. She reported a good trip. Father's day was fittingly observed at Bethel A. M. E. Church, Sunday morning. The men had entire control of the servics, even the choir was composed of all male "voices; Rev. Bethea was at his best. The "collection for the day amounted to $40. We wfcre blessed to have in our midst Sunday morning and night Rev Player of Columbia, S. C., and Rev. Camel of Cameron, S C. Wfe would -have been pleased tu have heard both of these divines preach but owing to previous announcements Rev. Bethea had to preach a special sermon to?the men in the morning and Sunday night he had to preaching a special sermon to the Masons brothers and the Court. We hope it wouldn't be the last time Brothers come again, Rev. Bethea is a broad man and I know that he will be too glad to give you brothers a chance. Rev. Bethea spent a few days last week visiting friends at Myrtle Beach he is elated aver his trip. Rev. David Mitchell preached at Ebenejer Baptist Church, Columbia, S.
