Invitations have been issued for
the 50th wedding aniversary of Mr.
rand -Mrs. James Foster, Sr., at their
home on Saluda St. on Tuesday night,
March 31. Mr. and Mrs. Foster are
some of Chesters most highly^ esteemed
citizens, and are receiving
congratulations and gifts from their
hundreds of friends both white' and
colored, on this their golden anniver_
sary.
Chester friends are very sorry to
learn of the illness of Mrs. Tena Williams
of Columbia. . Mrs. Williams
was. a frequeivt v.isitor here when her
' sister Mrs. Lizzie McLees lived here.
The death of Miss Emma Walker
on Wednesday of Jeterville brought
sadness to her many friends. In January,
Miss Walker came home from
State C.pllege, bccaus of illness. She
_i was given every attention, hilt after
weeks of suffering, passed away. She
was the only daughter of Mr. and
~~Mrsr Blanton?"Wjalkor. Besides^Tier
parents, she leaves three brothers,
Messrs John, Davis and Floyd Walker
