Sundnvi afternoon, the' pastor Rev. ~-#i'S. Daniel, preached at the "Southern City A. M. E. Zion Church for the Pastor, Rev. H. E. Wilson on ihe contest. He was accompanied bv his congregation and choir. Rev. Daniel used as his subject, "Using what you have in your hands." This was a great message. It is still- being .preached today. Those that heard news, ""-V senior choir rendered mu;s?c, ^vith Mrs. Gertrude Drayne at the piano. They were at their best. Every member was present. Collection $10.57. B. Y. P. The living room and hall was decorated in .turnips, corn, collards, fruit, pump kins and potatoest Old and young had a merry time. The hostess served punch, sandwiches and social tea crackers. This 'was for the benefit of the contest of which our pastor is in. Mrs. Sarah Lewis gave a donkey party- at her home Monday night, for the benefit of the contest. The rooms were filled from front-to baekr Mr. James Clement won tire first prize, and Mrs. Rernice. Croaby, second prize. Mrs."Marj,r Ella Watson, should have had 3rd prize because ^he pinned the donkey's tail on his mouth.
