As a worthy objective, the Odd Fellows of the state have, for for one of.their benevolent purposes, the payment of one hundred dollars toward the * expenses of some worthy * campus student. The purpose is a ?laudable-one. Miss Lawson is to be congratulated;. The faculty and student body of Benedict College were grieved to leam of the death of Miss. Catherine Pawley, who wis ''obliged to leave school during the year on account of poor health. She was a good student and would have graduated from our high school department had her health not failed her loved ones and especially: to her: brother James whc received his A. B. Degree from Benedict College May 1928. The Rev. Mr. Brown, pastor of the St. Luke Episcopal Church, gave a timely message to Benedict; College faculty and students Sunday, December 2. Many of his Columbia friendswhile wishing him success in his new field at Richmond, are averse tt his leaving Columbia.
