Professor "George A. Singleton,
head of the department, has been invited
by Mr. Walter White to address
P. when it meets in Indianapolis next
month. Last Sunday, he preached in
(Ireenwood at Mt. Pisgah, Brewer
Normal, Weston Chapel and Trinity.
The department is closing a very
yj-ofitable .year. The class in sociology
is conducting an industrial survey
for the United States Department
of Education. It promises to be
very interesting.

At 9 o'clock, the grand march led

and Literary Club or by any other
organization of its kind within the
bounds of South Carolina. After the
grand march thf spacious ball room
will be turned over to all of the
guests. The dancing will last until
eleven o'clock, after which the election
of Miss Ajax '27 will talfe place
Then dancing will continue.
During the intermission, the guests
will be refreshed with choice ices.
, We are hoping that this will be a
big success.
Several hundred invitations are now
being issued to guests within the city

Stuart motored to Greenwood via

to Columbia Monday morning.
Professor George Hampton, the
enterprising publisher of the Palmetto
Leader, accompanied them. ~
The trip was made in the doctor's
Packard and without mishap. Pro-1
feasor George A. Singleton, an old
class mate of the publisher of th^ Palmetto
Leader. After preaching four
times in Greenwood during the day,
he returned with the -party.
Dr. Stuart is one of the leading
physicians in the city and enjoys a
lucrative practice. His father, has a
palatial residence in Greenwood and
is a strong Wiember of Morris Chapel
Baptist Church. Dr. Stuart is the
only child. Both Mrs. "Stuart and
Publisher Hampton hail from Lau

city has just closed a two week's~reviwal,
conducted by Rev. Caiman of
Winnsboro, S.. C. Eleven- candidates
were received for membership in the
church. Several white folk attended
the services and it is said that at
times the meeting was so enthusiastic
htat white and colored shouted together.

Thereby saving to the patrons of the
oeal community more than $7000.00
that would have been spent in other
towns, sections and states on students
