Foundar, Mrs. Kachel Orane Mather,

passed-away on November 5th 192G,
after a brief illness resulting from

Miss Owen's early life was spent
in . Northampton, . Massaehussetts,

teacher in five public schools. She j
became 1 nterested- in- mlsstcmary ser.- i

in Florida. From there she was led
to Allendale, S. C., and, the the "Northern-Baptist
Mission Board sent-her
to'assist Mrs.t-Mather, in the school'
she had established near Beaufort, S.
C. With Miss Owen's Consecrated en- 1
[leavers joined with Mrs. Mather's
administration, the school grew?frr
every way, in its property, buildings,^
curriculum and enrollment until to-!
day it is very well equipped for in-'
dusti-ial and -academic training. Miss
Owen, gave up active work a few,
years ago, but has continued to visit;
