Prosperity is only a few miles | South of the Newberry Court House. | diet College and is destined to be one of the best preachers in this country when he completes his course. He has the most wonderful^ memory of any man J have ever met. . 'I The meeting at Prosperity was grand. Throngs of well-behaved col-' ored and white people attended eacl^ night. I feel like going back to Prosperity as long as I live. t In Old Historic Charleston Leaving Prosperity at midnight Friday, motored down home here Columbia, got a few hours rest and attendfed- some-- business affairs, got^ my ^tire family ^o^ether and struck f the rpad_ for 'Charleston. Leaving -Columbia at 1 p. m. arriving in South j Carolina's metropolis at 5 p. m., be- L sides stopping in Orangeburg for near* ly half an hour. We arrived at the parsondge of tne Kev. J. VV. White, the popular pas^~! tor of the Memorial Baptist Church-, I where "all things were ready" a- ' waiting us. ^ Sunday was a high day at Memorial Baptist Church, being its 40th Annivresary services. I di^ my best for the occasion. The Church was beautifully decorated and chocked full of! beautiful Charleston women and handsome men. Rev. J. W. White has done a most wonderful wo?Vtin Charleston. Many of the members of Morris Street, Central and other Churches joined in..these services all day. Baxter is also a student at j Benedict College, Junior College. He is kind-hearted, polite and appreciative of those ^reat people. The members of M. .Pisgah are among the best trained people -of, this State, aqll among the best looking, and the most open-hearted to give. I was told that these people own about 1OJ000 acres- of land, they send their children to school, own big automobiles and liye in the best kept homes to be found anywhere.
